Spiritual Life

Mass and Prayer

The Mass is the source and summit of all of the school’s activities.  A school wide Mass is celebrated each week on Friday, Holy Days of Obligation, or a seasonal feast.  Students prepare for the Mass by being lectors, presenters of the bread and wine, and altar servers.   The children’s choir leads the entire school body in singing praise to the Lord.

School Masses (8:15 am)  *Mass schedule changes slightly if a week contains a Holy Day or is a short week.
Monday - No Mass
Tuesday - Grades 5 and 6
Wednesday - Grades 7 and 8
Thursday - Grades 1, 2, 3 and 4
Friday -  All-school Mass

Grades 1 - 8 attend Mass twice a week.  Kindergarten attends Mass with the whole school on Fridays. Preschool attends Mass on a rotating basis.

In October the mother of Jesus, is recognized as the school joins together each week for a rosary.

During Lent, the school attends the Stations of the Cross which provides a path to pray and meditate on Christ’s sacrifice for us.

Daily Prayer

Each school day the entire school begins the day with prayer as a part of the opening exercises.   Grace before meals is prayed just before the lunch period.  Classes pray together before departing for the day.

Religous Instruction

Students in kindergarten and up regularly attend Mass and receive instruction through our religious education program, designed to address Catholic Diocese of Little Rock objectives.

Service Projects

IC students are also encouraged to live out their faith through various service projects, such as drives to collect food, clothes and/or money to benefit specific causes.
