The Arkansas Purple Star School Award for military-friendly schools recognizes schools that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces. Purple Star awardees receive a special Purple Star recognition to display in their building and are recognized on the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Elementary and Secondary Education website.
Family Engagement Plan
IC School is home to many military families due to our close proximity to Little Rock Air Force Base and Camp Robinson. We understand the unique challenges related to military transitions and parental deployments. On our dedicated webpage, we will provide military families with links to available resources. We will also provide them opportunities for volunteering and school family activities.
Meet Our Military Liaison
Mrs. Maureen Berry is honored to serve as the IC School Military Liaison. Mrs. Berry is our Registrar and has been a team member of IC for 20+ years. Maureen's spouse is Air Force LtCol (Ret) Leigh Berry and her son is a Captain and a Judge Advocate in the Army National Guard.
Mrs. Berry will be working closely with a Military member, who is also an IC Parent, to inform and coordinate any help and support our IC military children and families may need. Please contact Maureen Berry with any questions.
